Its been nearly a year since I last posted on this blog and I just thought to myself today that I miss it all rather a lot. No matter how long I leave it between posts, it seems I will always want to come back here to post stuff occasionally. Quite a few things have changed since I last spoke to you, and I thought I would use this post as a quick way of letting you know what's going on in my life.
After A-levels, I'm now studying Environmental & Countryside Management at Reading University. Its been great so far and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm living in university halls though which means I no longer have a garden to blog about (sad I know). But I will not let this stop me from updating this site. The university campus itself is a great place for wildlife, so there's always stuff to see there. And when I'm home (as I just have been for Christmas), or when I'm on holiday, I'll always have stuff to talk about. So basically, my aim for 2013 is to do at least one post a month, which sounds like a bit of a rubbish target, but I only managed 8 posts in 2012 so it's not gonna be the easiest thing in the world.
Anyway, I'm gonna keep this post short cause its late and I have a busy day ahead tomorrow. To summarise, I'm gonna be back soon, so stay posted folks! x

Hi Joe, So good to hear from you :-) I have often wondered how you were getting on and how the studies were going. It's great to know you are obviously heading in the direction of a career in wildlife and countryside matters of some sort which of course we all knew you would. I do hope things progress well for you.
For various reasons my own posts were very few and far between in 2012 and I have often thought about stopping the blog altogether but like you I'm sure I would miss it if I did!
Anyway, I hope you had a lovely Christmas and that 2013 will be a very good year for you :-)
Hi Jan,
Thanks so much, its great to speak to you too, its been a while! Yes, everything's going well at uni so far, and fingers crossed it'll all help me later on in the world of work.
Yes I know exactly what you mean. It just gets to the stage where you just get into the habit of not posting anything for a while, and then it just doesn't occur to you that you haven't done anything on it in so long. Hopefully I will stick with it better this year.
Christmas and New Year were both lovely thanks, and I hope it was for you too! :)
Congratulations on gaining a university place Joe. Hope all goes well for you.
Hi John,
Thank you very much, enjoying it a lot, hopefully that should continue. :)
Hi Joe
great that you are enjoying uni and have got back to blogging again. Your bird spotting expertise is getting even better having sat in that hide with you over New Year and been amazed at what you spotted and I didn't ... however, think I need a trip to the opticians! Rose
Hello there, Joe! Like everyone above, I’m delighted to hear you are progressing through Uni now. Ah… student halls… not exactly a quiet time for you I suspect! Hope you are having fun there too :-D
I’m certain your love for wildlife and taking photos will continue on and perhaps influence your future career opportunities. Like Jan, for various reasons, my blog posts have been less frequent also but I still find fun in posting when I do. Good luck to you! It will be interesting to see odd posts from you in a different environment, I’m sure you are taking even better nature photos now :-D
Hi Rose,
Thank you very much :) Haha I don't think its that good really, but I'm improving all the time! Would be good to make another nature reserve trip on our next holiday :)
Hi Shirl,
Ah thank you, I'm having such a great time at uni and don't really want this first year to end. And yes halls are pretty loud, but that's all part of the experience really :)
Ah I'm glad to hear it isn't just me that's been slowing down on the blog posts front! It's just such a satisfying hobby and I really can't think of a life without it now. I hope 2013 turns out to be a great year for blogging :)
