Anyway, below is the selection of photos I took of a rather tame male chaffinch coming to feed a few days ago...
As you may have noticed, I have uploaded these photos in "extra large" size, mostly just to test what they would look like. I haven't decided whether I like it or not, could well be that I carry on uploading photos as I used to.
I'm continuing to update the 2011 archive of this blog with some of the photos I never got round to posting so feel free to check out my posting yesterday (before the Twitter one), showing the list of posts I have added. Anyway, have a great day :D

Hi again Joe :-) Lovely to see your Chaffinch photos. Funnily enough I only upgraded to the newer post editor for my most recent post enabling me to post larger photos. I too can't decide whether I like it or not and may still revert to the smaller ones.
I have also enjoyed seeing the lovely photos of the Blackbird, Starlings and Magpie on your catchup posts.
I forgot to say that Goldfinches used to be the most prolific visitor to my garden but lately it is Greenfinches, I think they have intimidated the Goldfinches at the feeders with their aggression. Chaffinches visit in good numbers too.
Hi again :)
Thank you, it was nice that they came out quite well. And yeah I thinking I'm coming round to liking the larger photos but I wasn't so sure at first. Also if the photo is blurry at all, it would really show up when uploaded in that size. Also you can edit the dimensions of the photos on the html editor of the posting. So I was thinking of of maybe having my photos somewhere between large and extra large. Although it would take ages to do that for each photo every time I wanted to post. And also, aspect ratio has to be calculated as well in order to work out what the height should be in relation to the width. It'd all just be a bit too complicated really!
And ahh that's interesting :) For us, its probably the chaffinches and goldfinches that are the most common but it does tend to change a bit from year to year. Also it seems that finches in general seem to be the most common birds in our garden at the moment.
Anyway, thanks again :D
Lovely pics of the Chaffinch, the large format pics look good to me, Linda
Hi Linda,
Thanks very much for the comment :) And yeah I agree, I think I prefer the large pictures to the smaller ones.
